Pulse Veterinary Technologies® Launches ProTec™ Veterinary PRP Technology
Market-Leading Shockwave Company Expands Product Offering with Next Generation Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) System
ALPHARETTA, Ga., September 21, 2010 – Pulse Veterinary Technologies, LLC, today announced the launch of its ProTecTM PRP Injectable System, based on an exclusive license for the veterinary field from Cascade Medical Enterprises, LLC, a leader in the field of autologous regenerative technology. The license includes Cascade’s proprietary family of Platelet Rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM) products which PulseVet® will target for the minimally-invasive management of musculoskeletal disorders causing chronic pain and lameness in veterinary patients, primarily horses and dogs. Cascade’s PRFM product line has been utilized extensively in the human market for orthopedic, aesthetic and wound care applications since 2002.
“We are extremely excited by the opportunity which this technology represents,” said Eric Goorno, Chief Executive Officer of Pulse Veterinary Technologies (PulseVet®). “Platelet Rich Plasma is an important product for our customers. We searched extensively for a PRP system which would provide important and unique benefits to our customers and their patients; we found this with Cascade’s PRFM system. It is the brand of choice in the human market based on its performance and technical innovation. We plan to bring this technology to a similar position in the veterinary market, just as we have done with our VersaTron® shockwave system.”
Adrian Lock, PulseVet’s® Chief Operating Officer, said, “The ProTecTM PRFM technology is a very compelling and complementary product for us. It is technologically sophisticated in its unique ability to offer pure, protected platelets to the site of injury. Yet it is an extremely consistent and easy system to use. Moreover, it is an important product for us to offer veterinarians, many of whom use PRP currently, often in conjunction with our VersaTron® shockwave system as part of a multi-modal treatment program.”
Nick Grippi, President and founder of Cascade Medical, commented, “We are excited that Pulse Veterinary Technologies® is commercializing our technology in the veterinary field. PulseVet® is an ideal partner for us, having demonstrated successful commercialization of the market leading VersaTron® shockwave system, a complimentary product which targets the leading therapeutic veterinary practices.”

About Cascade Medical Enterprises, LLC
Founded in 2001, privately owned Cascade Medical is a leader in autologous biologics used for advanced healing of soft tissue and bone. Its patented technology concentrates platelets and fibrin from a small volume of the patient’s blood to form Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) and Platelet-rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM). Obtained in a simple intraprocedural process, PRP and PRFM, when applied to an injury site, accelerate the natural healing response by providing sustained release of platelet derived growth factors in a natural fibrin scaffold. Cascade Medical’s products are used in orthopedic sports medicine, oral surgery, spinal fusion, advanced chronic and acute wound care and in cosmetic procedures.
